5/16 Update:
While we here at SAFE are going to continue looking for an underwriter solution, we are expecting that it could be some time before we find a solution, maybe even closer to next year. We have started processing refunds for everybody who had already purchased membership for the 2012-2013 year. If anyone still wants to wait for us to find a solution, by all means do so, but we don't feel comfortable holding your money in the meantime since we don't have any product to give to you.  If anything comes through, we will notify all of our previous members via email, as well as blast out the news here and on Facebook.  Thank you all so much for your patience and understanding as we have gone through this, and please know that we are going to continue working to find a solution!!

5/10 Update
: We got a quote back yesterday that was going to be $1,200 per person with a $2,500 deductible. Being this was a huge difference from the under $100 per person they had estimated us on April 30th, it was very alarming. We have one last hail mary carrier working with two underwriters. We've given him a deadline of this Friday to get us something or we are going to close up shop for this year and start working on 2013. We just can't string everyone or ourselves along anymore. If we don't get a quote on Friday we will start processing refunds. Thank you all for your support and we will keep you updated. 

5/8 Update
: Our insurance agent called and had some quite frank words with the underwriters, and got a different person working on our policy, since the last one was actually just putting it off.  She sent things through to the carriers today, so at least we know it's being worked on now!

5/7 Update:we communicated with the underwriters that we need, at the very least, an estimate of when the policy will be ready. Hopefully this doesn't make them decide that we are too much trouble to work with! But we completely understand that performers need to know one way or the other, so you can be ready for gigs.

5/3 UPDATE:
The daily news from the underwriters is that they are still working on paperwork. They're aware of our need for a rush, but they haven't given us an idea of how much longer it'll be. We've asked to at the very least get an estimate of the start date, so we can relay that information to all of you.

4/30 UPDATE: The underwriters are getting paperwork ready for us, we will get it signed and taken care of as soon as they get it to us! This means our Master Policy will not be starting on the 30th as planned. Thank you for your patience as the paperwork process may take a couple of days, and we will send out 2012-2013 certificates as soon as possible. We completely understand if anyone who has already paid has gigs coming up too soon and cannot wait the extra couple of days - please contact us and we will issue a full refund immediately.

4/27, 2PM UPDATE: we have a quote back of someone who will work with us, we are figuring out the exact details now. We are going to work to keep you updated as soon as we get information.

4/27, 11AM: We have an unfortunate announcement to make - due to issues beyond our control, our current underwriters have decided that they no longer wish to work with entertainers - PERIOD. This is not due to any issues, accidents, or problems with SAFE Group, it was a decision they made about entertainers in general.  To dispel rumors that there are "laws changing in Missouri and Kansas" that affected SAFE Group from ever being able to operate again, this is not the case!

We are still working with several insurance agents who work with different underwriters, and they are all looking for solutions for us.  However, the process is slow going and so far we have nothing concrete. Because of this, we will not have a new policy set up right at the end of the old one. We are not sure when the next year of SAFE Group membership will be able to start.

We are not any happier about the late notice or the circumstances than you are as performers ourselves. We will give a full refund to anyone who has already signed up for the next year upon request. We are still hoping to have a new policy set up soon, but it may be a week or 2 into May, and we understand that many performers have gigs before then that they cannot wait for.  We have turned off the option of applying online for the moment, pending a new policy.
